COLLECTIVE FUTURE (501c4)
Collective Future is where our theory of change shines. Underlying all work of The Collective are the principles of equity and justice. Collective Future takes direct action to ensure that those principles are represented in the democratic process so that Black political power is real and America delivers on its promise.
MISSION
The mission of Collective Future is to increase Black civic engagement and Black political representation.
PROGRAMS
Justice For All Action Fund
This is our moment. We must rise to the occasion and bring an end to police violence and the system of injustice that criminalizes Black people.
An initiative launched following the murder of George Floyd by the Minneapolis police advocating that our states, cities, and counties require officers to live in the communities they serve to promote community policing; appoint special prosecutors for all officer use of force cases to ensure impartiality; and convict police for use of executive force and murder to the same level as civilians to ensure equal justice under the law. The Collective will recruit, train, and fund Black judicial, prosecutorial, and attorney general candidates to ensure more representative leaders are leading the criminal justice system.
The Black Campaign School
Launched in 2017, The Black Campaign School is the preeminent training program for Black candidates and Black campaign operatives. Over the next three years, The Collective Education Fund and Collective Future will train upwards of 2,000 Black political candidates and operatives on how to effectively campaign and win critical races through The Black Campaign School.
The Black Policy School
Launching in 2020, The Black Policy School will become the new hub to cultivate, train and deploy Black policy staffers throughout government agencies, legislative bodies, think tanks and advocacy organizations. Our initial cohort of over 300 will build their network and skills through The Black Policy School to create policy wins for the African American community.
Vote to Live
Launching in 2020, Vote to Live is the overarching civic engagement program of The Collective Education Fund & Collective Future. Through partnerships with major Black cultural, faith, fraternal, sororal and higher educational partners, The Collective launched a massive data-acquisition program to target potentially new Black voters through mail, text message and digital advertising to register and turn-out at least 250,000 new Black voters in FL, GA, MI, NC, PA, TX and WI.
